Miss Representation Screening
Human Rights and Status of Women are having a joint movie night!!!! On Tuesday, February 21 at the OSSTF office on Pony Drive in Newmarket we will be showing the acclaimed documentary Miss Representation. This will be a dinner, documentary and discussion. You will also be provided with the suggested curriculum connections about how this film can be used in the classroom. This documentary looks at how the media influences young girls and how the media treats women in politics. All are welcome!!!
Time: 4:00 (dinner and mingle)
4:30 – documentary (film is @ 90 minutes)
Afterwords – discussion, mingle....

This documentary is also available to be borrowed from the office along with Taking Root the documentary about Kenyan women tree planting which led to the Nobel Peace Prize for Wagari Maathai. |
